Looking Back...And Forward

Thank you to everyone who made Vintage Rose Wraps a wild success this year! The boutiques have done better than expected in every way--and the open houses at my home have been wonderful! It has been a pleasure meeting so many of you through the selling of these headbands. My only regret was that I wasn't able to fulfill last minute desires to buy these things before Christmas! I assured my family after the last boutique that the madness would stop so we could enjoy our season. Thank you to my loving hubby and sweet kids for their patience this year, and thank you to all of you whose excitement for these things gives me a lot to look forward to in the coming year.

The new year brings a whole load of opportunities for Vintage Rose Wraps. Please check back in January for a wonderful selection of headbands and for news on where to purchase them.

Wishing you and yours the happiest of holidays and a "vintagy, yet fresh--hip, yet humble" new year.

Love for your Vintage Rose Wrap

{image from www.5minutesofgoinggreen.com}

One of my favorite things I hear from people is how much they love wearing their vintage rose wraps. And if you're like me, there is probably one or two you like to wear more than the others. And with all that wearing, your more "loved" wraps are bound to get a little bit dirty and sort of crinkled at the ends where you tie your knot. Though I have not officially thrown a headwrap in the washer with a load of clothes, a customer of mine did and she said it looked great when she ironed it. But, with the shabby nature of your headband, and with the sometimes mixed fabrics I use in my bands, I would try just a few of these suggestions (submitted by customers themselves!) to help your headband feel good as new.
  • If you head wrap gets dirty, use a warm cloth and a small amount of soap to spot the needed areas. Air dry or use a blow dryer if you're in a hurry. For white or cream flowers, Tide on the go or tide detergent can also be used to spot wash and spruce it up.
  • For crinkled ends where you tie your headband, you can always use an iron--but I know a whole family of girls who told me they use their flat irons to smooth out the edges of their headbands before putting them on. This is my favorite tip and I've totally put it to good use.
  • For loose strings or frayed edges, clip when needed. Your headband will likely NOT unravel because of the stitched edge that works to stop more fraying.

If you have any other suggestions that might be helpful that you'd be willing to share, please feel free to leave a comment for the bunch!

Swiss Christmas {Midway, Utah}

My sister will be selling my headbands in beautiful Midway, Utah for their annual Swiss Christmas event this weekend! If you've never been to Midway, and you live in Utah--it's a definite must! It's so fun to watch this little Swiss town transform into a winter wonderland--with a little old fashioned festival to boot! They have lots of vendors, food, and dancing & singing groups throughout the day which make for a special treat. They also have a Creche Exhibit that is unmatched, and a Gingerbread House display that benefits needy children. The real treat though is the Father and Mother Christmas that come between 12:00 and 2:00 on Saturday. I've never seen anything else like them! If you're looking for that special picture for your children with Father and Mother Christmas--this will be one for the album! And it's free. Which is always nice...and makes it so you can afford to buy more Vintage Rose Wraps! :) Don't forget to check out all the fabulous combinations she'll have there. She'll be set up in the Midway, Town Hall.
Visit www.midwaychristmas.com for all the info! The Festival runs Friday and Saturday, December 4th and 5th from 10:00 a.m. -7:00 p.m.
